How To Write a Travel Journal
Traveling of any kind is a very rewarding experience. It opens your senses to new people, places, things, cultures, foods, sights, and sound that you may see only once in a lifetime. These experiences will teach you more about yourself and the world that surrounds us.
If your like me you probably keep an active white board and a vision board. I’ve been using these tools successfully for years but not until recently did I realize I should be taking note to my travels as they have much to teach when reflected on and having that stored in one place, such as a travel journal is empowering .
So What is a Travel Journal?
A travel journal is a place where you can write about the trips you have been on and the adventures and discoveries made along the way. Keeping this in written form allows you to slow down and reflect. I find keeping this with my gear or travel bag is a lot of fun and personally rewarding, not to mention the wonderful legacy to pass down.
Why write a travel journal?
Reflect more: Having a journal gives you a ONE place to record all the new discoverers and experiences. Giving you easy access for review.
Remember More: Keeping notes and jotting down your activities, you will have better recall of your visits and the nuances of insight you have gathered along the way they can easily be overlooked or forgotten.
Learn More: By having a place to write down your observations and discoveries gives you even greater insight as you will retain more the world around you.

- What are you going to do
- Write about the people
- Write about the food
- The ups and downs what you liked best and least about the trip
- write about yourself and your state of being
- write down a travel guide to make recommendations to family and friends of must not be missed
- What would you change how could you have improved your trip
- Where to go next
Keeping a travel journal is extremely rewarding and satisfying. The important thing is to USE is take it up in small but constant pieces and use your journal for travel notes and itinerary. You will more likely be constant with entries that way, because you will be referring to it often. This outline has been kept very simple to allow you to fill the gaps with your own inspirations and ideas. So write it down and level UP!
